Sale-A-Bration Farewell 2016 Part 2 of 2

Welcome to part 2 of our Sale-A-Bration Farewell 2016 Blog Hop!

You’ll be hopping around to 8 countries and will visit 15 amazing Stampin’ Up!® Independent Demonstrators, each with an inspirational project for you to enjoy. There’s just 6 days of Sale-A-Bration left and we’re getting ready to say ‘farewell’ to what’s been fantastic Sale-A-Bration of 2016.

Currently you’re visiting Sarah Berry from Lancashire, United Kingdom. Hello there! 🙂 You can continue hopping my using the list of names at the end of this post. Now, let’s scroll down to see what I’ve been making.

William Morris inspired card for Sale-A-Bration Farewell 2016

Yesterday was William Morris’ 184th birthday, he was an English textile designer who created many wonderful repetitive floral patterns for tapestries, wallpaper, fabrics and print. I just love repetitive pattern and have always been inspired by Morris’ work while completing my Fashion and Textiles degree. My favourite pattern of his is called the ‘Daisy’, and is what I’ve taken inspiration from for my card today.

The ‘Daisy’ pattern, by William Morris.

I’ve chosen my favourite Sale-A-Bration stamp set, which is called Flowering Fields. This is a free stamp set you can receive with a £45 order (until 31st March 2016 only!). I’ve picked just one flower and repetitively stamped in Versamark ink, then heat embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Each time I flipped the stamp round to create this pattern, with the help of my friend the Stamp-a-ma-jig!

Using an Aqua Painter, I’ve added colour to the flowers choosing the same colours as in William Morris’ Daisy pattern. The colours I’ve used are Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Always Artichoke and Mint Macaron.

Love your card, and the way you told us about your inspiration. I thought about another idea…. all of the flowers going the same way except for one! One of a kind or unique or something!

I think your card is beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the explanation on how you got your inspiration. I’m looking at my quilting fabric differently and finding inspiration there. Lovely work!
