You’re the Sweetest #GDP019

You’re the Sweetest #GDP019

Hi everyone, I’m here with a card for The Global Design Project #GDP019. This week’s theme is ‘Love’, so I’ve had a browse through the Spring/Summer Catalogue and I’m spoilt for choice for products I could have used for this challenge.

I decided to use the hearts from the A Nice Cuppa stamp set, paired with the ‘You’re just the sweetest’ message from the Apple of my Eye stamp set. For the colour palette I’ve taken inspiration from the pattern papers, and continued the purple and blue through to the inks and embellishments.

The circle you can see behind the tea pot is the largest of the circles Stampin’ Up! stock, this is the 2-1/2″ Circle Punch. The heart shaped steam I arranged so it would look like it is coming out of the teapot spout. Followed more hearts which are in the ‘A Nice Cuppa’ stamp set. The largest of the two hearts, has a diamond pattern on it and can be punched out using the heart punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Here’s a great close up of the die cut Tea Pot, to make the cut out seem more realistic I just added Blackberry Bliss ink to the edges of the shape, paying attention to the curves and thinking about how the light would catch on the curves of the pot. (That sounds very scientific doesn’t it!)

The sentiment is from the Apple of my Eye stamp set which is available in Photopolymer only. I really like the way the letters are arranged and thought it sits perfectly on the tummy of the teapot. I also thought it was very suitable for the love theme and ‘sweet’ teas.

And finally, the inside of the card. I’ve continued the love theme with a strip of heart pattern paper and a baker’s twine bow.

I’d love to hear what you think to today’s card, you can do so in the comments section below. Thank you for visiting me today, I hope you’ll pop back soon for my next Global Design Project creation.

Congratulations on being a winner on GDP019. I like the violet color around edges of teapot to make it look more ceramic. The ceramic look made stand out for me.
